HPC - Heat Pump Centre

SP Energy Technology is the operating agent for Heat Pump Centre (HPC), an international information centre, which promotes the development of heat pumping technologies. That HPC is situated in Sweden strengthens the Swedish refrigeration and heat pumping industry internationally by highlighting the Swedish “know-how”.

HPC is part of the organisation of IEA, the International Energy Agency, which is linked to the Organisation for Economic Co-operationand Development (OECD). HPC is the central information activity of the Heat Pump Programme (HPP), which is an Implementing Agreement within IEA.

The programme runs several international research projects highlighting different aspects of heat pumps, refrigeration and air conditioning. Members from 13 countries, among them the USA and Japan, are engaged in the programme. The task of HPC is to disseminate information in order to initiate research and to accelerate the technical development of heat pumping technology.

The main information activities include the HPC web site, www.heatpumpcentre.org, and the HPC Newsletter, published four times a year. Descriptions of ongoing projects, project ideas, upcoming events and other news can be found on the website, as well as publications and the electronic newsletter.
