Protective coatings

We carry out evaluation of protective coatings for steel structures, industry and off-shore by means of accelerated testing, out-door exposures and chemical analyses.
Examples of methods that we use are:
  • ISO 12944 and ISO 20340 for qualification and classification in C classes.
  • Accelerated testing according to for instance ACT (previously called VICT, a method used by Volvo Car and Scania Trucks), VDA.
  • Out-door exposures at Bohus-Malmön according to Swedish specifications for steel structures
Chemical and other analyses we use are for example:
  • FTIR
  • GC-MS (Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry)
  • LC-MS-MS (Liquid Chromatography with double Mass Spectrometry)
  • SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy)
  • Color measurements (CIE Lab etc.)
  • AFM, gloss etc.
  • Depth profiling with planar microtome
