ActiveTest

Dissemination of performance testing methods For ICT-based safety functions in road vehicles. Testing programs for assessment of passive safety measures in road vehicles, such as airbag, seat belt, etc.., are well established. However, substantial improvement in road safety is expected to rely on active safety functions. Presently, there is no generally accepted assessment program for performance testing of such functions.

The objective of the ActiveTest project is to disseminate performance testing methods for ICT-based safety functions in road vehicles. The achievement of eVALUE in performance testing of ICT-based safety functions as well as the test program which was developed conjointly will be disseminated. An active dialogue with key stakeholder groups shall take place and contact with standardization organizations for road vehicles shall be undertaken. ActiveTest aims in the end at stimulating awareness for the need of standardized performance testing of ICT-based safety systems. An overview of the state of the art shall be compiled together with an outlook for future research needs.
