RelCommH - Reliable Communication for Heavy vehicles

The RelCommH research project, which is financed by FFI/VINNOVA, will run for two years, starting in 2013. The partners are SP, Volvo Group, Scania, Kapsch TrafficCom and Qamcom Research & Technology.The project will investigate methods of increasing the reliability of vehicle-to-vehicle communications based on the ITS-G5 standard.

This standard uses a high carrier frequency (5.9 GHz), which means that antenna position has a significant impact on transmission performance.

Heavy vehicles are particularly challenging, due to their size. To combat this, various antenna positions and designs, diversity techniques and algorithms will be investigated.
