KLIBOL - Present and future comfort cooling in domestic and commercial buildings
The use of comfort cooling is getting more common for providing a good indoor climate in offices and after the warm summers lately there is now a tendency towards an introduction of comfort cooling also in residential buildings.Several investigations have shown that productivity is greatly increased if a good indoor climate can be provided. It is expected that a demand for comfort cooling in residential buildings will increase in the future, mainly depending on a demand for a good indoor climate.
The aim of this project is to analyse the current and future market for comfort cooling in offices and domestic buildings. The project will focus on how to efficiently produce and distribute the cooling capacity. The analysis will form a basis for developing a number of competitive system solutions which should be sustainable in terms of environment, economy and energy perspectives. The project will handle the issue of comfort cooling from a system perspective considering the aspects of production, distribution and use.
The main outcomes from the project will be an outlook of the market development on 5-15 years basis, system solutions for production and distribution as well as specifications for offices and domestic houses which can form a basis for developing new concepts. The project will be performed in cooperation with representatives from heat pump manufacturers, house owners and builders, utilities and more.
