This project focus on the residents’ energy related behaviours. The main objective is to find explanations to possible changes of and differences between modern houses and their energy use. The hypothesis is that the residents have a decisive role especially regarding variations in energy use between similar houses. Hence, the residents’ behaviours connected to the energy use will be investigated to obtain a better description of their influence and activity patterns.
The project is an interdisciplinary study where both measurements and investigations on behaviours will be carried out and correlated. Nearly 60 households living in single-family houses are participating by keeping a diary on their everyday activities in their homes.
To describe and explain the residents’ influence on the energy use is important for energy planning and to be able to further study different types of behaviour profiles, which for example can be used to adapt information to different households.
