Transport - SmartBatt
2011-2012 Smart and Safe Integration of Batteries in Electric VehiclesThe objective of SmartBatt is to develop and proof an innovative, multifunctional, light and safe concept of an energy storage system which is integrated in the pure electric car’s structure. The main challenges of this smart integration are the combination of lightweight design with a high safety level against all kinds of hazards, the optimization of functions and the intelligent design of interfaces to various on-board systems. SPs role in this project is to work on electrical and fire safety. The project is coordinated by AIT mobility in Austria. Other partners are Axeon in UK, Fraunhofer in Germany, Impact Design in Poland, Ricardo in UK, University of Graz and Volkswagen. The project started beginning of 2011 and will be finished by end of 2012.
