Minet is an EU project on measurements and human perception.
Soft metrology
Soft metrology involves measurements in which human perception or interpretation is an important factor. There is an increasing demand for measurement of this kind such as in health and safety, commerce & trade, economy, etc.
Measurements are used as a basis for decision-making in many important cases.
EU project
The EU project Minet has an overall goal to reach: "long-term integration and advances in the science of measuring complex, holistic quantities and qualities in all relevant areas in Europe"
Aims
- Provide insight into such measurements in several disciplines
- Organize a study visits programme for the exchange of advanced knowledge on methods of soft metrology and on experience from other research areas, disciplines or applications
- Initiate and foster inter-disciplinarity through the creation of a think tank programme for expert development of current and future 'Measurement of experience' projects
- Create fora for the formulation of future research projects in the field
