Fire and transportation
The consequence of a fire occurring in a transport system e.g. a ferry or a train can result in serious consequences. Especially when the fire starts i a tunnel there are a number of examples of catastrophes. This research area focuses most on those areas related to transport but not covered by other research areas such as active systems and tunnels. Stakeholders are industry active with producing vehicles and vessel, material producers for the transport industry, consultancies. From the society there is interest from governmental organisations and fire rescue services.
