Reaction-to-fire laboratories
There are three laboratories where fire tests, fire experiments and fire research are performed. The reaction to fire properties of materials and products are measured here.We also do experiments with room fires, simulations of specific fire scenarios etc. The laboratories have advanced measuring equipment for heat release rate, flame spread, ignitability and production of smoke and toxic gas species. We have calorimeters that measure heat release rate ranging from a few watts, a match, to 2000 kW, a room fire. We have complete equipment for the most important national and international test methods, about 100 standardised tests, of which we are accredited or notified for most of them. A smoke gas cleaning system ensures clean laboratories and makes it possible to do environmental friendly testing and research. Products in the areas of building, shipping, vehicles, cables, furnishing etc are evaluated in large and small scale.
