Calibration of vibration meter
On the market, there is a large number of different types of vibration meters which are designed for different purposes. There are special standards which specify characteristics of instruments for measurement of e.g. hand/arm and whole body vibrations, vibrations in buildings and vehicles etc. SP calibrates and verifies vibration meters against their specifications and the standards according to which they are specified.
Some of these standards, e.g. ISO 8041, requires that the dynamic characteristics are verified regularly in addition to the frequency characteristics for a complete measurement chain. The transducer is replaced by electric signals when the dynamic characteristics are verified.
