Efficient Use of Energy
That energy should be used as efficiently as possible is essential if we are to overcome the world's climate problems and maintain future security of energy supply. This means that a range of components and systems solutions must work as well as possible from energy and environmental points of view. SP carries out research into, and assists development of, sustainable, efficient energy use in the built environment, industry and parts of the transport sector. Many of our projects are multi-disciplinary, and are carried out in conjunction with industry and academia. SP is active at all points in the innovation chain, from initial research to application and market introduction.
Leading edge competence in several areas
Our strengths lie in systems technology expertise in combination with leading edge competence in building services systems, refrigeration and heat pump technology, building physics and several industrial application areas. Examples include the foodstuffs industry, the wood industry, glass and the mechanical engineering industries. In the transport field, SP's working areas cover a wide area, including future vehicle types (such as electric and hybrid vehicles) and lightweight structures in shipbuilding. Projects range from laboratory-scale to full-scale applications in the field.
