Flexible sheets for waterproofing in buildings

The demands on flexible sheets, for waterproofing in buildings, are high. They shall resist the stresses they are subjected to and retain their function for a long period of time. SP offers testing and certification of flexible sheets for waterproofing according to national and international requirements (CE-marking).

We can offer you a complete testing for type approval, P-marking (see link to the right on this site) as well as for other type approvals (different marking) in other European countries.


24th of  April 2011 the building regulation CPR entered in force. In Sweden the main change is that the CE marking of construction products will be mandatory when conditions exist. The previous dispensation in Sweden is not applicable anymore. Manufacturers and third-party organization has a transition time to take the necessary steps and 1 July 2013, the CE marking is to be completed and a statement accompanying the product.

Generally, it becomes mandatory with CE marking of construction products covered by a harmonized standard or for which an ETA has been issued. Very limited exemptions, such as for a single building products manufactured artisan for a specific construction projects, such as the renovation of a cultural building and for products manufactured at the construction site of the individual works.

Type test

If a producer wants to mark his product with the P-mark, he has to initiate a type test of his product to in order to ensure that the demands for a product approval are fulfilled. Thereafter an agreement, regarding a yearly surveillance inspection of the product, is made between the producer and SP. The agreement regarding surveillance inspection of a building product state how the manufacturer’s self inspection shall be performed during and after the production, as well as what is included in the surveillance inspection performed by SP.

Surveillance inspection

SP are accredited as a testing laboratory and inspection body for surveillance inspection of building products.
