What is the origin of a damage? How can such a problem be avoided in the future? Who is responsible? A damage evaluation within materials technology can give answers to many questions.
Damage or breakdown of materials due to corrosion can result from the action of different parameters. In order to identify the cause of the corrosion damages and to suggest measures that will eliminate or decrease corrosion problems in the future, we provide corrosion investigations using different techniques like SEM/EDX, FTIR-RAS, TOF-SIMS. In some case the use of advanced optical microscope combined with a short literature study can also lead to a satisfactory answer to the problem.
Corrosion testing can also be performed in order to find the best solution to the material problem.
