Lightning impulse parameters according to the new IEC 60060-1 edition – ON LINE!
The method for calculating lightning impulse parameters has changed radically in the new edition of the standard ”IEC 60060-1: High voltage test techniques - Part 1: General definitions and test”.
You can now try the new calculation method online! Just upload your own recorded waveform to this web page. The results of the new calculation method is displayed instantly and you can compare these results with the results obtained using your existing test equipment.
This calculation software was implemented here at the SP’s High Voltage group. It is in accordance with the committee draft for voting 42/260/CDV of IEC 60060-1 Ed. 3.0, and was validated by participation in an international comparison1.
File format: This software currently supports the following input file format:
A text file with two columns. Left column is time in seconds, right column is amplitude in volts. Point is used as decimal separator. Allowed column separators are any combinations of semi-colons, commas, spaces and tabs. First row is discarded since some systems put various header information there. Max. file size 1.2 MB.
Have a look at Example waveform.txt, or right-click and save to disk to evaluate it. If your files are in a different format, please feel free to contact us. Maybe we can add support for them, too.
Please visit the High Voltage and Current group's web page for more information about our activities.
