Fire tests of ships
The marine fire safety technology has developed rapidly over the last decade and SP has been active in the IMO work re-writing the fire test procedure (FTP) code. We have also been very active in research concerning fire safety for ships that uses new types of construction materials. We offer fire tests according to IMO's test protocols for materials, construction elements and for extinguishment systems.We are fully accredited by a number of marine administrations and classification societies. Our test certificates are widely accepted and we can assist in the communication with the approval organisations. We have an extensive experience in fire tests involving lightweight construction materials for ship building. We offer assistance in handling of SOLAS Regulation 17 concerning alternative design and arrangement.
