Food and environment

We find out what impact your products have on climate and help you to improve the environment. Use our broad competence!

The focus on the impact our food and food production has on climate is currently increasing dramatically. Cultivation and processing affect climate, so does transport, packaging and waste.

The more we know about a product, the greater the potential to achieve improvements through small or large changes at any point in the food product’s life cycle.

Climate and/or environmental labelling of consumer packaged food, which includes everything from air transport bans to GWP figures, is currently being discussed extensively.

Global Warming Potential (GWP) is specified in CO2 equivalents and is a common calculation unit for all gases that can affect climate. A carbon footprint can be calculated for food, processing or transport.

Our environmental group has been working since 1993 on quantifying the environmental impact of food products and identifying improvement opportunities. We have been able, in this period, to build a very broad competence and we have also created a unique environmental database. Let us support you in your work to promote environmental improvement measures for your product, facility or your transport.

Our environmental experts can provide:

  • GWP calculations for your product, production, transport and packaging solutions
  • an environmental evaluation of the life cycle of a product
  • environmental improvement analyses

Assignments can involve initiatives both large and small depending entirely on your wishes.
