Within Materials Technology SP have skills and world class equipment for selected areas. In the SP group, we work in general with all materials, from nano composites to concrete.Within SP we work with several different materials with focus on
- Metals and alloys
- Polymers
- Composites, especially nano composites and wood polymer composites
- Concrete
- Wood
Tensile/mechanical properties and durability
Examples of properties that we investigate are tensile/mechanical properties and durability. In the case of mechanical properties we can do studies of tensile stress and fatigue as well as abrasion and scratch/mar resistance studies.
Durability includes for example weathering (artificial sunlight), environmental resistance, corrosion resistance and resistance against chemicals etc.
The applications vary a lot, from medical technology to construction and automotive.
