Product development
SP works widely towards the plastics and rubbers industries. We help plastic producing companies with development of new materials and materials for new applications. It is mainly about optimizing plastic recipes regarding specific properties. In the last years we have for instance helped some customers to develop nano composites for special applications.
Long term performance
A central property for polymeric materials is ageing behaviour, which we work with very widely. We simulate ageing of plastics and rubbers in many different environments with heat, sun, chemicals, mechanical stress and water. We also evaluate desired ageing like biological degradation and offer certification of biodegradable products.
Building materials
Another area where we offer certification is polymeric building materials. It can be about CE-marking but many times our costumes aim higher with our quality marking system, the P-mark. This certification is administrated by our affiliated company Sitac.
Core competence
Our high competence areas are pipes, vehicle cables, waterproofing products for bathrooms, recycling, degradation, nano composites, plasticizers and cyclic mechanical stress.
