Process engineering

More efficient production processes save time, money, ingredients, process media and energy. Improved production efficiency also leads to a significant improvement in quality. We fine-tune processes and equipment. We develop and adapt new processing technology. Using what is in many ways unique experience of both research and practical company assignments, we can offer complete development services that are adapted entirely to the client company's requirements.

The areas we work with are:

  • Improving the efficiency of food processes

  • Through practical experience, planned experiments
and statistical evaluation we fine-tune processes to achieve the desired characteristics.

  • Evaluation of equipment

  • We evaluate performance, quality and technical alternatives.

  • Validation of measurements in biotech production

  • SIK have, together with SP, a wide and versatile experience of tailoring solutions for meeting up with demands on measurements within biotechnical productions.

  • New process and measurement technology

  • We monitor the development of new technologies and we are involved in the development of new equipment. By adopting an open attitude towards all sectors of industry we can quickly adapt new developments in other processing sectors to food companies.

  • Simulation and optimisation

  • SP has leading edge expertise in the simulation of microwave heating. We also have a number of other tools at our disposal to model and optimise food heating and cooling processes.

  • Food preparation and product development

  • Preparation instructions. Adaptation of products for other forms of processing or preparation.
    Optimisation of recipe costs.

  • Courses

  • Company-adapted courses, both at SP and on site
    at the client company.
