E-marking of retreaded car and commercial vehicle tyres
SP offer, by agreement with Sweden's National Road Administration, type approval of retreaded car and commercial vehicle tyres in accordance with ECE Regulations.General information
SP offer type approval of retreaded car and commercial vehicle tyres in accordance with ECE Regulations nos. 108 and 109. In its capacity as Sweden's type-approving authority for ECE regulations in the automotive sector, the Vehicle Standards Division of the National Road Administration has entered into an agreement with SP, under the terms of which SP is authorised to perform initial assessment and assessment of procedures for ensuring conformity with the production regulations.
SP will be able to perform the required tests, help clients with preparing the necessary documentation and perform the initial inspection and inspection of production conformity. The initial assessment will be carried out as appropriate to one of the following alternatives:
1. The manufacturer already has an ISO 9001/9002-1994 quality system certified by a
third party.
2. The manufacturer does not have a certified quality system.
3. The manufacturer's quality system has been assessed by a type approval
authority in another member state.
Surveillance inspection will be performed at the intervals normally applied by the type approval authorities in Europe.
Requirements to be fulfilled by the manufacturer
- A quality system to at least EN-ISO 9002/1994. (But not necessarily certified.)
- The quality system must be in operation in the company.
- Possession of a formal inspection plan.
ECE Regulations nos. 108 and 109
ECE Regulation no. 108 applies for passenger car tyres. Its full title is: "Uniform provisions concerning the approval for the production of retreaded pneumatic tyres for motor vehicles and their trailers."
ECE Regulation no. 109 applies for commercial vehicle tyres. Its full title is: "Uniform provisions concerning the approval for the production of retreaded pneumatic tyres for commercial vehicles and their trailers."
