Automatic dynamic weighing instruments for road vehicles. SP tests, certifies, verifies and calibrates all types of vehicle weighing instruments.
SP performs tests in accordance with OIML R 134 and issues certificates. Certificates and/or type approvals from SP for automatic weighing instruments are recognised throughout Europe and the rest of the world.
We also test modules such as load cells and weight indicators, and issue certificates as appropriate. Note, however, that such certificates do not mean that the module has been type-approved: only complete weighing instruments can be type-approved. We also offer resources for testing and evaluating new or modified weighing instruments.
Axle load weighing instruments
Axle load weighing instruments permit dynamic weighing, which means that the vehicle can be driven over the instrument at a speed of up to 15 km/h. Such weighing is quicker than using static weighing instruments (12/24 metre). These are short weighing instruments, but they require a total length of 48 metres, since the ground on each side of the instrument must be flat. But even with flat ground, there are many dynamic forces that can affect weighing.
The triple system
This is a system that is based on three linked axle load weighing instruments, but still requires a total length of 48 metres. The advantages are faster weighing, as the vehicle does not have to stop over the weighing instruments, and improved reliability: if one weighing instruments fails, the other two can still be used.

"Automatic instruments for weighing road vehicles in motion. Total vehicle weighing". Weighing instruments that weigh each axle of the vehicle can be tested in accordance with a draft recommendation from OIML.
