Testing and evaluation of weighing instruments for trade
SP tests, certifies, verifies and calibrates all types of shop weighing instruments, whether new or modified existing weighing instruments.Shop weighing instruments are non-automatic weighing instruments, used for static weighing of goods, mainly in the retail grocery trade.
SP issues international certificates
SP tests these weighing instruments in accordance with European Standard EN 45501 and international recommendation OIML R 76, issuing European and international certificates for all types of non-automatic weighing instruments.
Certificates and/or type approvals from SP for non-automatic weighing instruments are recognised throughout Europe and the rest of the world.
Open approval for weighing instruments with weight displays
It is also possible for a weighing instruments manufacturer to obtain what is known as ‘open approval’ for weighing instruments consisting of a weight display and approved load cells in for certain types of load carriers.
