Weight classes
Weights can be divided into different tolerance classes, depending on by how much they differ from the correct marked values. In order to determine by how much a weight differs from its stated values, and to determine how this relates to the desired tolerances, the weight must be calibrated in a suitable uncertainty of measurement class.
Regarding weights for checking scales the following table is recommended:
|
Class I (analyse) |
K2 |
|
Class II ( laboratorie) |
K3 |
|
Class III (industrial) |
K4/K5 |
Weights used for adjustment of weighing instruments must be more precise, and in these cases we recommend weights according to this table:
|
Class I (analyse) |
K1/ E2 |
|
Class II ( laboratorie) |
K2/ F1 |
|
Class III (industrial) |
K4/ M1 |
In special cases higher classed can be required.
