New possibilities for air source heat pumps in cold climates
Air source heat pumps are excellent low-investment equipment for space and water heating. However, traditionally they have not performed well in cold climates. At the recent 10th Heat Pump Conference, some novel strategies and solutions for this were presented. These articles are reproduced in the recently released issue 3/2011 of the IEA Heat Pump Centre Newsletter. Other articles describe strategies and concrete ideas for low climate impact from heat pumps. In the Newsletter, a total of six selected articles from the conference are reproduced.
Further in this issue, the 2011 Rittinger awardees are presented. In addition, we get a presentation of the heat pump market in South Korea.
The IEA HPC Newsletter is a quarterly newsletter/journal from the IEA Heat Pump Centre (HPC), an international information service for heat pumping technologies, applications and markets. Visit the website at www.heatpumpcentre.org
