Fire research and development
The research section of Fire Technology supports the other sections. Research and Development activities comprise approximately 40 % of the turnover at the department. The research is to a large degree international and often highly interdisciplinary. Amongst project sponsors we find industry, research councils, research foundations, governmental bodies and the European commission. Research is conducted at all sections within fire technology i.e. fire dynamics, fire protection and fire resistance.
A number of interesting research areas have been developed during the years. The staff includes several PhDs with specialities within fire, chemistry and physics and numerous engineers. Together with the rest of the staff they represent a significant pool of experience and knowledge in several areas of fire safety.
Further we have currently one associate professor at MdH (Mälardalen högskolan) and 1 PhD student at LTH (Lund University).
