High voltage and current
SP can calibrate measuring and generating instruments as well as transducers such as transformers, voltage dividers and shunts.
All our calibrations are traceable to our own or to international references. Our best uncertainties are given below. Additional uncertainties associated with the calibrated objects are to be considered.
We are able to calibrate equipment such as:
Alternating voltage - We have resources for system voltages up to 400/Ö3 kV (274 kV to earth) both for generation and for measurement.
Alternating current - We can generate and measure alternating current up to 10 kA.
Direct voltage - Our resources for direct voltage enable us to reach 500 kV both for generation and for measurement.
Direct current - Our resources for direct current cover up to 500 A both for generation and measurement. For calibration of shunts at currents in excess of 500 A, we heat the shunt with AC current until thermal stability is reached and then the shunt is quickly connected for measurement with 500 A DC.
