Density
While the term mass characterises a certain amount of matter, the term density refers to the compactness of the matter. The unit used is kg/m³, i.e. mass per unit volume. Knowledge of the density is necessary in many practical applications.
In a National Laboratory for Density under consideration to be established, the unit would be realised by a standard in the form of a sphere, having a mass and a volume traceable to the units of mass and length respectively, i.e. kg and m.
Our services in the area of density include calibration of
- Density - liquids
- Density - weights and other solid bodies
- Densitometers
- Pycnometers, hydrometers and areometers
Depending on the needs of our customers we select suitable equipment and methods in order to reach the required level of uncertainty (0,025% – 0,0005%).
